Gressoney-Saint-Jean
Gressoney-Saint-Jean lies in the Lys valley with Monte Rosa and its glaciers in the background. The centre preserves buildings and traditions of the Walser community, visible in timber and stone houses and festive costumes. Lake Gover and Castel Savoia, Queen Margherita’s summer residence, are among its landmarks. Meadows, woodland and paths connect the village with nearby hamlets and the slopes of the Weissmatten ski area.
